How to choose a case for the iPhone XS and X?
The iPhone XS, XS Max, XR and X are a departure from previous iPhone generations due in large part to their design that incorporates a borderless display and the removal of the physical home button. These models of iPhones are also different with Face ID, the 3D capture technology that enables secure “invisible” unlocking.
The iPhone XS and X are expensive phones. They are also expensive to repair. With its all-screen design, this type of smartphone is very fragile. Therefore, to protect it from scratches, bumps and falls, it is highly recommended to use a protective case.
Cases and covers for XS and X, there are for all tastes. Each model has specific features such as thickness, degree of protection, aesthetic appearance or ease of use. Some cases are thicker than others and offer a higher level of protection. Others are thinner and more aesthetic.
We have selected the following criteria for choosing an iPhone case:
Drop protection: an iPhone case must be able to protect the phone against a fall. The level of protection varies from case to case. A case that meets the MIL STD 810G military standard is much tougher than an ultra-thin case. It offers a greater guarantee of protection, but is less attractive.
Full protection: As the name implies, a full case protects the entire smartphone, including the screen. But the screen protector is usually made of plastic and spoils the touch experience. A better solution is to opt for a case that protects everything but the phone’s screen and complement it with a tempered glass cover.
Raised edges: An iPhone case prevents the screen from cracking, one of the biggest concerns for any smartphone. When the edges of the case are slightly raised, they help protect the screen from scratches. A thickness of 0.85 mm is enough to prevent the screen from scratching when the smartphone is placed with the screen facing down.
Wireless compatible: An iPhone XS and X case for iPhone XS and X should be wireless compatible. It should not reduce Wi-Fi, cellular, NFC signals and be compatible with induction charging.
